Karkala: Buses Collide – 15 Injured

Karkala, Apr 1: On the evening of Thursday March 31, two private buses collided with each other head on at Arbettu cross on Santekatte Kokkarne road. In the incident, 15 passengers were injured, five of them seriously.

The bus that was moving to Kokkarne from Hebri jumped into the roadside gorge because of the accident, suffering heavy damages in the bargain. The other bus also suffered some damages to its front portion. The accident occurred at a road curve.

The condition of passengers, Shekhar, Jyoti, Krishna, Santosh, and Jayalskahmi, is stated to be serious. A case was registered in Hebri police station. Investigation has been taken up.
