Udupi, Mar 30: The youth should be motivated to voluntarily contribute their blood through donation camp instead of compulsion to do so, said deputy commissioner (DC) Hemalata.
DC Hemalata was speaking after inaugurating a blood donation camp at Vidyaniketan College campus, Kaup, near here on Wednesday March 30. The camp was organized under the auspices of Vidyaniketan Group of education institutions, Red Ribbon Club, Vidyaniketan Degree College, Nidhya Nursing School and College and Kaup Rotary Club in association with district Government Hospital blood bank.
Vidyaniketan Group of Education Institutions’ correspondent K P Acharya presided.
The district Blood bank chief Dr Sharat Kumar, district Aids control officer Dr Ashok were the chief guests of the occasion.
Red Ribbon Club president Dora Noronha, NSS officer Preethi and Vidhyadar Puranik were also present.
Kaup Rotary Club president Anant Padiyar welcomed the gathering. Vidyaniketan Group of educatin institutions administrator Professor V K Udyavar proposed the vote of thanks. Student Shifana compered the programme.
