Mangaluru: St Agnes Preparatory School celebrates feast of Lady of Mount Carmel

Mangaluru, Jul 22: The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated with great devotion at St Agnes Preparatory school by the students of kindergarten on July 15.

The day’s celebration began with a solemn prayer service that highlighted the importance of grace towards growth in divine intimacy through a tableau 'In search of God'. The students highlighted the history of the Carmelite Order and the significance of the scapular. A skit on importance of scapular was enacted giving the message of how it protects from all harm and danger.

The chief guest of the celebration was Jasmine Sarita Vas who is the counsellor at Yenepoya Hospital Mangaluru. She gave a beautiful message, to the students as flowers in the Mount Carmel Garden and brought out the significance about virtues- humanity, faithfulness, obedience and love among children.

Sr Maria Gracilda the school principal urged the students to follow the footsteps of Mother Mary and assimilate her virtues in our lives.

Shalet compered the programme and welcomed the gathering, Josna conducted the prayer service thanking the almighty god for his numerous blessings. Mary Pinto proposed the vote of thanks expressing her gratitude to all in making this event a success. The management wished all the staff and students a very happy feast.

Let us all seek the divine blessings of Lady of Mount Carmel. May her virtues be our strength and guide now and forever.
