Mangalore, Mar 30: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Subodh Yadav, has plans for speedy disposal of cases that come before the deputy commissioner’s court for hearing.
During the last four months after Yadav took over charge, the court could not hold sittings properly because of election work during the first month. Since then, eighty cases have been disposed off.
The court had 230 pending cases including some which belonged to 2006. Out of them, hearings in respect of 50 of these 230 cases were held and final orders passed since the last three months, the deputy commissioner said.
He added that out of 45 new cases that came before the court, 25 were heard and disposed off. It has been decided to handle cases that are pending in the court in a time bound manner. Information about all cases has been published in the notice board. The system has been thoroughly revamped to avoid delay in passing of orders, the deputy commissioner said, hoping that the people’s trust in the deputy commissioner’s court will get strengthened because of these moves.
