Mangaluru: St Agnes College organizes webinar on 'Soft Skills for Career Success'

Mangaluru, Jul 4: The post graduate department of Chemistry of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a webinar on 'Soft Skills for Career Success' which was held at PG Auditorium on July 2.

The resource person and speaker of the programme was Prajwal Mathias Pinto, principal scientist, Syngene International Ltd, Bengaluru.

The programme was compered by Ashwathi of II MSc Chemistry. The convener of programme was Dr Geetha Pinto. Prayer was led by Sneha and Roshni of II MSc Chemistry followed by welcome speech by Johan of II MSc Chemistry. The speaker of the programme gave a valuable quote and began the session on soft skills for career success highlighting the difference between soft and hard skills and the right attitude on how one must maintain at the work place; how to improve soft skills which included being self confident, communication, team spirit and work, critical thinking, time management, integrity and negotiation.

There was an interaction during which she guided students on the right way to present oneself. There was a small round of mock interview with Jinkle of II MSc Chemistry. Later the speaker shared her comments on this. At the end Anagha of II MSc Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks and Dr Geetha Pinto expressed gratitude for the time spent and for accepting the invitation. It was a very informative session which made students to know the importance of soft skills for career success as well as prepared students mentally to face the challenges that come their way at workplace and life.
