Mangaluru, Jun 25: Grade X students of Mount Carmel Central School had a seminar on career guidance on Saturday June 25 conducted by Prof Ronald Pinto in association with Lions Club & Leo Club, Nethravathi.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer song by the school choir. Principal Sr Melissa welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests and resource person.
Lion Geetha Shetty in her introductory talk advised the students to follow their dreams and venture into new fields of learning.
The president, Lion Asha Nagraj in her message encouraged the students to make best use of the opportunity provided to them and participate actively in the session through queries and responses.
Prof Ronald Pinto, director of the Institute of Individual Development, Mangaluru was the resource person of the day. Having vast knowledge and experience in guiding the youth, he provided various options of the combinations and courses at the plus 2 level and guided the students to make appropriate career choices. He encouraged students to have a set goal in life and pursue it consciously.
Head Boy Ronan Lobo delivered the vote of thanks, teacher Zanet D'Souza compeered the programme. Lion Vidya Shetty, the secretary and Lion Sandhya Venkatesh, the treasurer of Lions Club, Nethravathi were present for the inaugural function.
It was indeed an enriching day for the students of Grade X, tuning them back to learning and giving them a direction to make a right choice of their course of studies and career.
