Mumbai, Mar 16: Jagruti Kendra – Jerimeri organized a protest rally against civic authorities on International Women’s Day here, recently under the leadership of Sr Seema and Sr Anitha.



Jagruti Kendra is a women's cell fighting for their rights and also for justice and peace of poor and downtrodden.  On the occasion of women’s day celebration, Jagruti Kendra took lead to spread ‘Jagruti’ (awareness) at Jerimeri area about the recent demolition of slums undertaken by the civic authorities and also various types of harassments to women and girls who lack protection.

This being the motto, Jagruti Kendra invited all women of this cell to participate in a massive protest rally against the inhuman act of civic authorities. Over 500 women from different communities gathered at St Jude Balawadi ground and proceeded through 90 feet road up to Sakinaka junction through Kurla – Andheri Road and returned to Balwadi ground.
