Mangaluru, Jun 23: The Eighth International Yoga Day was celebrated at St Ann’s College of Education on June 21. This programme began with an invocation.
Naganagouda K Hiregoudar, research scholar, department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences, Mangaluru University was the chief guest. In his message he spoke about how yoga brings tranquility between mind and body. He also touched upon an upsurge in the prevalence of yoga. This includes medical professionals, para professionals, lay persons and professionals in all fields adopting and recommending the regular practice of yoga for a healthy spiritual, physical and mental being. With an ending note the chief guest qoutedthat Yoga is not a religion, it is a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body. The resource person conducted fewasanasand explained its importance.
Dr Sr Maria Roopa A C the administrator in her message highlighted the importance of yoga which helps a man in his/her physical mental and spiritual well being.
Ramya, the physical director welcomed the gathering. Student teacher Nishmitha Jewel Pinto compered the programme and Aldrisha Dayana Dsouza rendered the vote of thanks.
A group of hundred BEd and MEd students along with the faculty participated in the programme.
