Udupi: Investiture ceremony of Students’ Council held at AT St Mary’s English Medium School

Udupi, Jun 21: The investiture ceremony of Students’ Council 2022 was held at St Mary’s Auditorium on June 21, 2022. The leaders elected through democratic electoral procedure were officially designated during the ceremony.

The ceremony commenced with a prayer and the ceremonial lighting of the auspicious lamp. The School Council members and leaders of various clubs marched orderly in sync with the splendid school band to receive their official badges.

Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira administered the oath of office to the newly elected Head Boy, Head Girl and the Speaker. Later the various ministers of the school Council and the leaders of various Houses, Clubs were sworn in to their portfolios by taking the pledge administered by the Speaker. The Correspondent honored the elected leaders with sashes and badges. All the student leaders shared the candle light symbolizing the integrity and harmony of the school Parliament. The logos of various co-curricular clubs were also unveiled during this occasion.

The head boy master Nideesh Shetty and the head girl Samantha Mascarenhas in their maiden official speech thanked the voters and promised to fulfil their responsibilities in accordance with the vision and the mission of the school.

Chief guest Sukanya Martis, the principal of PPC evening college in her speech emphasized the vital role of co-curricular activities in bringing out the hidden potentials of students. The correspondent Fr Charles Menezes in his presidential address said that the young leaders of today must spread the positive vibes of peace, harmony and goodwill in society. Vice Principal Ms Rita Quadros welcomed gathering by introducing the chief guest.

Vinola of grade 12 and Ashank of grade 10 anchored the programme. Roopa K S proposed the vote thanks.
