Karnataka Sangha Qatar conducts annual Ladies and Children Talent Show competition

Doha, Jun 21: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (An associate organization of Indian Culture Center under Agies of Indian Embassy, Doha, Qatar) as part of its 'Azadi ki Amruth Mahotsav' celebration successfully conducted its annual Ladies and Children Talent Show competition. Event had around 250 entries over 9 different categories.

Highlight of the event was the Duet Fashion show for mother and son/daughter called Arasi mathu Rajakumara/Rajakumari which had a greater applause from the audience in the auditorium, judging panel of this event consisted of Aarti Gautam (first runner-up Asia Pacific) and Swetha Bharadwaj a well-known choreographer and personality trainer. Dr Ramya Thimmegowda and Krishna Gowda emerged as the title winners for tensely contested 'Arasi Mattu Rajakumara' event.

Dignitaries for the event included representatives from Ministry of Culture, Qatar, Indian Cultural center and Indian Community Benevolent Forum along with presidents of all Karnataka based associations in Qatar and advisory committee members of Karnataka Sangha Qatar. President of Indian cultural center P N Baburajan was felicitated in the traditional Mysuru style to acknowledge his efforts towards the social service for better for Indian communities in Qatar for more than three decades.

During his speech P N Baburajan appreciated Kannadiga community for their vibrant support to Indian Cultural Center and new Karnataka Sangha Qatar committee for creating such a wonderful platform for the mother and child. Speaking over the event guest of honour Jamal Fayez, cultural consultant, department of culture and arts, Ministry of culture, not only witnessed the entire event but also expressed happiness over the cultural events that were conducted. Other guest of honour Hassan Chougule, Pravasi Bharati Sanman Awardee and president of DPS Group of institutions briefed the audience on the history of Indian cultural center and also re-iterated that he is looking forward for more such events in coming days. Vinod Nair, president Indian Community Benevolent Forum, thanked Karnataka sangha Qatar for continued support to ICBF.

The entire event was well balanced with many unique cultural performances by various cultural organizations based in Qatar and from the members of Karnataka Sangha Qatar. During his welcome speech, Mahesh Gowda, president Karnataka Sangha Qatar thanked everybody for participation specially the husband and father who supported and encouraged their families to take part in the competition, he assured to host many more similar events in future to encourage emerging talents in the community.
