Kundapur, Jun 18: Several students of Sri Venkataramana Pre-University College here have topped the II PU examination and made the institution proud.
In the science stream, Maithreyi (594) has scored fifth rank in the state while Manish R Hebbar (592) has bagged the seventh rank. Prachi N (590) has got the ninth rank and Karthik Aithal (589) has obtained the tenth rank.
In the commerce stream, Deeksha Bhat and Panchami Kini (592) have scored fifth rank while Sheesha (591) has scored sixth rank, Krithika (590) seventh, Adithi and Shraddha Salian (589) have bagged eighth rank. Devadiga Anjali Chanda and Rakshitha Anand Poojary (588) have got the ninth rank. With this, 12 students from Venkataramana College have topped in state-level examination.
The college had 216 students who took up the examinations this year from the commerce category out of which 120 of them passed with distinction and 87 students passed with first class. There were 337 students who wrote the exams in the science category. Out of them 166 students scored distinction marks, 155 students passed with first class.
Forty six students scored 100% marks in Accountancy, 45 of them in Mathematics and 26 of them scored 100% marks in Computer Science. Fifteen of them scored 100% in Chemistry, 11 of them scored cent per cent in Sanskrit, 10 of them in Business Studies, 9 in Physics, 2 in Kannada and 1 each in Economics, Basic Maths and Hindi obtained 100 out of 100 score.
K Radhakrishna Shenoy, secretary to the governing council of the college, principal, and members of the teaching faculty congratulated the students for the excellent results achieved by them.
