Mangaluru, Jun 14: Dr Preethi Keerthi D'Souza, assistant professor, Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Commerce, Mangalore University, spoke to the general body of the PTA on June 11 in the Ladyhill Golden Jubilee Hall.
The school headmistress Sr Maisie A C, joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions Sr Violet Tauro A C, and PTA vice-president Prassanna Mallya accompanied the day's guest speaker, Dr Preethi Keerthi D'Souza, an outstanding educator and counsellor, to the hall.
The gathering opened with a prayer hymn, 'Life is Beautiful' which was followed by a welcome dance, which was a unique art form that had no borders and could be understood and experienced by everybody.
Dr Preethi D'Souza advised parents to instil good values in their children to make them true global citizens, disciplined, tolerant, and kind, after the official greeting and introduction of the dignitaries on the stage. She emphasized the importance of parents spending quality time with their children, understanding, listening, and molding their character by acting as role models.
The parents were presented with a synopsis of the schools activities from 2019 to 2021. Sr Violet Tauro, joint secretary, addressed the parents, saying that a school becomes great because of excellent teachers and with a great mission, and that parents and teachers are accountable for a students development into a full-fledged citizen capable of leading the country.
The financial report was delivered to the audience by headmistress Sr Maisie. She also conveyed her heartfelt gratitude and admiration for the PTAs partnership with the schools administration in achieving a great year all around.
New members for the PTA Executive Committee were actively volunteered by parents. The entire staff of Ladyhill English Primary School, as well as the headmistress, had a variety of obligations to fulfil, which contributed to the success of the PTA general body meeting, which ended with a gratitude note.
