Mangalore, Mar 10: 21 days fasting and adoration of the Holy Sacrament began at the Chapel of Our Lady of Dolours, Bishop’s House Kodialbail here on Thursday March 10 at 9.00 am.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore along with 40 other Priests concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.
In his message he said that penance, fasting and prayer is essential in every one’s life but it is important for every individual to experience a total turn around in the spiritual life. He said that 42 churches and institutions will take part in these 21 days spiritual events, which will be led by Holy Cross Church, Cordel
Kulshekar. He thanked in particular to the parish priest and the parishioners of Kulshekar church for a huge gathering at the chapel.
Bishop asked the people to pray for the special intentions in all these 21 days.
As the Diocese celebrates the post centenary Silver jubilee in this year, That the Holy Spirit may grant the divine grace for each one of us.
To form a true Christian leadership in the Diocese and to have unity among the Christians.
For the special intentions of the Bishop.
That all may be granted Constitutional rights and justice in this society and let there be peace and harmony in every family and community.
To develop spirituality among the youth in this year of “International Year of Youth” and the vocations for the Priesthood may increase in this diocese.
Immediately after the Holy mass the faithful of Kulshekar parish started “Praise and worship to the Holy Sacrament” which will continue till 5.00 pm everyday.
