Udupi: Bangalore-bound Passenger Loses Gold Ornaments Worth Rs 2.8 Lac

Udupi, Mar 8: In an incident that occurred on the night of Sunday March 6 in the town, a lady from the city, who came to the bus stand to board a Bangalore-bound bus, found that a small bag containing jewellery worth Rs 2.8 lac had been stolen.

R L Pai and his wife, Tara R Pai, residing behind Alankar Theatre here, had come to Maitri Complex for catching their bus to Bangalore. After she occupied her seat, Tara opened her vanity bag, and found to her dismay that another small bag containing gold ornaments worth Rs 2.8 lac, which was kept inside the vanity bag, had gone missing.

In a complaint filed with the town police station here, Tara said that she lost the ornaments between 8.30 and 8.45 pm on Sunday. Investigation has begun.
