Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School observes World Environment Day

Mangaluru, Jun 6: Lourdes Central School organized an awareness programme on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5. All the students and faculty members participated with full vigor in this programme.

The principal Fr Robert D’ Souza and vice-principal were also present at the programme. The objective of this programme was to spread awareness among people about saving the environment from various types of pollution and to plant more and more trees to make our mother earth full of greenery. 

The programme commenced with the universal prayer followed by the prayer song and the intentions. A beautiful thought about the environment was also conveyed by Bhoomika of Class 7. Sanjana D’Silva, of Class 7C enlightened the gathering by reflecting on the theme 'Only One Earth'.  Preethi briefed on the theme ‘World Environment Day 2022’, and gave tips and encouraged the students to practice them for a cleaner and greener planet. During her speech, she stressed on the three R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and to understand the value of our planet. A melodious song on the Environment was sung by the students of Class 7, which was followed by the excellent enactment of a skit, that urged students to protect the environment by inculcating the good habits of conserving and protecting our surroundings. Script direction was done by Aanyaand Nivedh of Class 7.

The programme ended with an address from the principal Fr Robert D’souza, who urged the students to do their part in saving the environment. He thanked the staff and students who worked hard to make this event a memorable one.

The compering of the programme was beautifully done by Pranavee of Class 7A.
