Mangaluru, Jun 6: Environment Day celebration was held at Holy Spirit English Medium School Mukka on June 4. The corporator of Mukka ward number 2, Shweta was the chief guest, who flagged off a walkathon.

Correspondent Fr Cyril Pinto, headmistress Sr Priscilla, PTA president Uday, PTA members, and former students were present on the occasion.

The student body was divided into several smaller groups. The LKG students took a walk in the campus with placards and slogans. The UKG and class one students were on the road at the main gate communicating message of caring for the environment to the people through slogans and placards.

The scouts and guides cleaned the area starting from the bus stand outside the school gate till the toll gate and brought about awareness of cleanliness. The rest of the students were divided into two groups.

Each group was led by the brass band to reach two different areas of the sea shore.

Nikshita welcomed the gathering. Sr Daisy gave the introduction and Shakeela gave tips to care for the mother earth. Gayatri delivered the vote of thanks.

Municipality corporation provided plastic bags and transportation to collect the garbage and gloves for all the students. Pramod Shetty, the owner of Red Rock Residency provided refreshments for the students.
