Abu Dhabi, March 6 (IANS/WAM) Abu Dhabi's foreign trade was 109.176 billion dirhams (about $29 billion) in 2010, a 2.58 percent drop compared to 2009, the customs directorate said Saturday.
Its non-oil exports grew to 11.61 billion dirhams, compared to 9.5 billion dirhams in 2009, up 22.2 percent.
The statistics showed a decline in imports in 2010 recording 86.574 billion dirhams, a 7.8 percent drop compared to 93.872 billion dirhams in 2009.
Re-exports reached 10.991 billion dirhams, up 26.4 percent compared to 8.694 billion dirhams in 2009.
Saeed Ahmed Abdullah Al Muhairi, director general of general directorate of customs in Abu Dhabi, said: "The statistical data for 2010 shows continued growth in the non-oil exports and re-exports compared to 2009, with a minor decline in imports.
"These figures reflect the overall improvement of the trade balance of the Abu Dhabi over the past year."
