Mangaluru, jun 4: World Environment Day celebration of Srinivas University, Srinivas Hospital is organised at 10 am on Sunday June 5 at Srinivas Hospital Mukka campus, Surathkal.
Chief guest for the programme is Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University and vice president, A Shama Rao foundation, Mangaluru. Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University, and president, A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru, will preside over the function. A Vijayalakshmi R Rao (trustee-member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), Prof Er Smt A Mitra S Rao (trustee-member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University) will be present on the occasion. The programme will focus mainly on the theme - 'Restore Earth, Only one Earth'.
June 5 is celebrated as the World Environment Day across the globe. The theme for this year is 'Only One Earth'.
The very purpose for celebrating this day is to create awareness among the present generation. In view of this, they will be planting around 250 fruit plants inside our campus at Mukka, which will benefit the future generations. The fruit plants mainly include jackfruit, chickoo, mango, guava and cashew plants.
Proud son of Adka Shama Rao, renowned chartered accountant, Visionary Academician, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao started the first educational institution (i.e. Srinivas College of Hotel MAnagement) in the year 1988. The group was started with just 7 students. Today, more than 12,000 students are pursuing their higher education in Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Institutions. Around 4,000 faculty and staff are serving the student community at Srinivas University. The group has established many milestones in the quality education in the field of Healthcare, Medical, Dental, Para Medical, Allied Health Sciences, Hotel Management, Engineering & Technology, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Aviation studies, Social Sciences & Humanities, Management & Commerce, Education, Sanskrit, and Yoga.
