Karkala: Christ the King Church - Foundation Stone Laid for Parish Office, Residence


Karkala, Mar 5: The foundation stone for the parish office and residence for priests of Christ the King Church was laid, recently.

Fr  John A Barboza, the parish priest celebrated the mass during which the bricks were brought in a procession at offectory by the representatives of the parish. Vice-president Joachim Pinto, secretary Clotilda D'Souza, Gurkars of 15 wards and other lay leaders were present. After mass, they were blessed and taken to the building spot and in the presence of large number of parishioners, the foundation stone was laid.

The planned building will include a small hall to accommodate 200 people, parish office and priest's residence. It is estimated to cost Rs 66 lac.
