Mangaluru, Jun 2: Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Mangaluru, celebrated 'Annual Sports meet' at the College Ground on Tuesday, May 31.

Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal presided over the function and inaugurated the event by hoisting the flag. Addressing the gathering Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D said that while sport is all about fun and enthusiasm, one should never compromise on the aspect of the discipline. He also stressed on the importance of health wherein he urged the students to inculcate good hygiene and focus on doing any form of physical exercise for at least an hour a day.

The inaugural was followed by a series of Athletic Events throughout the day that witnessed the active participation of both students as well as faculty members. The meet culminated with valedictory involving prize distribution by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal, SIT, Mangaluru.

Jayachandra and Supriya Physical Education directors, Tony K Sebastian, sports coordinator, Bopanna H R, student sports secretary and Rachana Shetty assistant sports secretary coordinated the event.
