Puttur, Feb 23: In a complaint filed with Sampya police station on Tuesday February 22, Saraswati, daughter of Leelavati, has alleged that her mother, accompanied by a gang, gate-crashed into the house they were residing in on Monday February 21, beat them up, and forcibly abducted her younger sister, Shashikala.
Saraswati said that she and her younger sister, Shashikala, used to stay with their grandfather, Duggappa Gowda, in Bayambady in Koltige village. She has named the accomplices of her mother as Jaya alias Girija, Sundari, and an unidentified man. “We had abandoned our mother as her character was not good, and started staying with our grandfather,” she said.
A few days back, Leelavati had complained to the district superintendent of police (SP), that a person named Krishna Maniyani from Koltige had taken her daughters, Saraswati and Shashikala, in his control with the help of black magic. The SP had taken serious note of the issue, and asked circle inspector, Manjaiah, to investigate the same. The circle inspector, during the investigation, found the allegation about black magic to be untrue. He found that the children, fed up with the ways of their mother, had started living with their uncle, Krishna Maniyani, a practitioner of native medicine.
It is being analyzed that Leelavati, angered by the above development, forcibly took away her daughter. The policemen are investigating.
