Mangalore: Iskcon Celebrates Annual Ratha Yatra with Fervour

Mangalore, Feb 21:  The Iskcon temple at Arya Samaja Road here celebrated Sri Krishna Balarama Ratha Yatra with religious fervour on Saturday February 19.

The procession started from City Center in the presence of Sri Vidyasagarteerta Swamiji, Krishnapura Mutt, Udupi and was presided by Madhupandit Dasa, president ISKCON, Bangalore.

Devotees offered flowers at the Lotus feet of their Lordships and pulled the chariot. The entire atmosphere was spiritually powered by the chanting of the ‘Hare Krishna Maha’ mantra.
 
The chariots carrying the deities of Sri Krishna and Balarama proceeded through the streets of city on that evening. The deities on the majestic chariot, while in procession, received a warm welcome by the people of Mangalore all the way.
 
The chariot was decorated with a variety of fragrant flowers and illuminated with sparkling lights. The deities of the Lordships were bejeweled by ornaments, flower garlands and silken garments.

Deputy commission Subodh Yadav graced the occasion.
