Mangalore, Feb 17: The valedictory ceremony of NSS camp organized by M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy was held at Ambalamogaru Higher Primary School here on Thursday February 17.
The ceremony was presided over by N S Kareem, Zilla Panchayat member. He spoke about the value and importance of medical health care and how NSS camps are a great medium of providing it to the rural areas. He spoke highly of the commitment that goes into these camps and motivated the students to keep up the good work.
Other guests present were Aabu Sali, president of STMC, Sudarshan Shetty, former member, taluk panchayat and Shanker A, the headmaster of Ambalamogaru Higher Primary School.
Aabu Sali in his speech spoke about how the camp benefitted the locals by providing them free dental, physiotherapy and medical treatments. He concluded by wishing the organizers good luck for future endeavours.
In his address Sudarshan Shetty spoke about motivating and informative the NSS camps are, both for the organizers as well as the locals who come in contact. He said such camps also inspire the students to work hard, study well and serve the society well.
The NSS camp was conducted over a period of one week starting form February 8 and included health awareness survey, lectures by eminent speakers, free medical camp, dental camp, physiotherapy camp as well as sports and cultural activities for the school students.
