Udupi: Congress, JDS, Resent Milk Price Hike

Udupi, Feb 17: The Congress party has opposed the hike in the price of the ‘Nandini’ brand of milk, affected by the government. District spokesman of the party, K Krishnamurty Acharya, said that the prise hike has come as a shock for the middle income people and families of labourers.

“Because of the upward revision of the price of milk, which is nutritious for the children in particular, the children of the state have been denied of a good food. The government, which has chosen to increase the price of milk twice within a year, has been wasting funds for unnecessary sectors,” he criticized.

JDS district president, Deviprasad Shetty, said that the party, which has been insisting for the rolling back of the hike in the milk price, will organize a unique protest near the bus stand in Manipal from 11 am to 12 pm on February 18. “On that occasion, milk will be sold to the general public at the old price. Besides, cows will be milked at the spot of the protest, for awakening the people towards the need to resist this price hike. U R Sabhapaty will lead the protestors,” he explained in a release.

    dear congress ...was the onion and other commodities price hiked by bjp ??? i think it was you ....you politicians are just idiots they just pinpoint other mistakes etc etc ..i never watch newspapers now day i hate to see politician faces now days that too on first page ...please disoolve all the assembly etc give the president all powers ...just leave us alone it is better to be killed by a enemy bullet by dieing tryants like our politicians
