Mangalore, Feb 16: In two separate accidents which occurred near Vittal and Kunbhakody in Sullia taluk respectively on Tuesday February 15, 37 persons suffered injuries of different degrees. Both these vehicles were carrying participants of Eid Milad procession.
A pick up truck, which was part of an Eid Milad procession, went out of the driver’s control at Kanyana Mundyoor and tumbled to the ground. 16 youths were injured in the accident. Two among them, Karim (17) from Mambady Mittanadka village, and Riaz (16) from Samadka, whose injuries were serious, were rushed to a hospital in the city. 14 others were treated as outpatients in Vittal. The Vittal policemen have registered a case.
A pick up tempo carrying people back to their homes after participating in the Eid Milad procession fell on its side at Kumbhakody in Sullia taluk on Tuesday. Only a couple of the 21 persons, who got injured, were of older. The truck reportedly lost its balance while negotiating a curve. One of them, Moosa Kunhi (40), was seriously injured.
