Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School organizes staff orientation programme

Mangaluru, Apr 28: A one-day Staff Orientation Programme was organised for the teachers of ST Agnes CBSE School on April 12 on the topic 'Teaching and Learning in accordance with the NEP'. A team of 50 teachers including the newly appointed teachers for the new academic year 2022-23 attended this session.

The session was conducted methodically by Dr B G Bhaskar who is currently serving as resource person at Ratna Sagar Pvt Ltd. He was also accompanied by Preetham who is the Business Development Manager at Ratna Sagar Pvt Ltd. Dr B G Bhaskar is an Academician Practising psychologist and a Motivational Speaker with 20 and more years of experience in educational field and has excelled in giving trainings to teachers, students across India. He has a number of degrees to his creditnamely MSc, MEd, MPhil, PhD andMBA, MSc (Psy).He has also presented papers at National and International Level seminars and workshops. He is the recipient of many awards presented to him for his excellent performance in educating and training the learners at various levelfrom the‘Teacher Foundation and Wipro (2004)’, ‘Intel and Future School for innovative Teaching methodology for an effective classroom teaching’.

The morning session was a qualitative training to the teachers with various tips given to be adopted for effective classroom teaching with some thought-provokingactivities. The teacher’s role with a SMILE as a logo and the PERSONALITY as the Business card was highlighted. Experiential learning, Activity based learning, Fun learning is a necessity as per the NEP components was stressed upon. An important role of a teacher is to get down to the level of the child was also highlighted.

Post lunch the session was conducted to the teachers of grade I to V and VI and VII language teachers who were briefed about the components of NEP specified text books and explained to them as to how to make the classroom lively through examples, activities and demonstrations. Required guidelines were given too to follow the various steps mentioned in the textbooks as per the subjects. It was an enriching session to all the teachers.

The school principal thanked the team immensely for their valuable input and training the teachersto become excellent educators. The programme was compered by teacher Raina Coelho and vote of thanks was proposed by teacher Shanthi.

The Management is grateful for this initiation and wishes all the teachers to be successful in teaching.
