Bengaluru, Apr 13: NMAMIT, Nitte, NMIT, Bengaluru signed a Memorandum of Agreement with M/s Autoliv India Private Limited, Bengaluru on April 11. The objective of this MoA includes setting up of an incubation center both in Nitte and Bengaluru to offer training and development programs to students to improve their product and process development abilities, analytical thought, presentation delivery, communication skills and technical know-how as a part of the Industry-Institute Collaboration. In connection with this, BE and MTech (Machine Design) students of both the colleges will be appointed as project trainees, arranging plant visits to college students and faculty on a case-to-case basis, providing internship projects and maybe recruiting engineers as and when required.

Kiran Sheelavant, associate vice president represented Autoliv India and Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal, NMAMIT represented Nitte institution during the signing event.

Vishal Hegde, pro chancellor (Admin), Nitte DU, Dr I Ramesh Mithanthaya and Dr Shrinivasa Rao B R, vice principals of NMAMIT, Prof A N Parameshwaran, director- IIC, Dr Shashikantha Karinka, professor in-charge for MoUs and employees of Autoliv India Pvt Ltd were present during the event.

Dr Srinivasa Pai, head, department of Mechanical Engineering, NMAMIT welcomed the gathering. Dr Sudheer Reddy presented about the research works that are being carried out at NMIT. Dr Nithin Kumar, associate professor in Mechanical Engineering coordinated the programme. Bharath Kumar, head-Placements proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Rashmi P Shetty, assistant professor in Mechanical Engineering compered the programme. ‘Autoliv powered NMAMIT Incubation Centre’ in NMAMIT was also inaugurated during the occasion.
