Mangaluru: Assisi Central School holds decennial year celebration

Mangaluru, Apr 6: Assisi Central School, Bagambila, Derlakatte held its decennial year celebrations on Tuesday, April 5 with great joy and gratitude for ten years of blessing at the school auditorium.

Ten years of togetherness brought together the management, staff, students and parents to cherish the blessings of God almighty and St Francis of Assisi, patron of the school.

Fr Victor D Mello blessed the newly installed statue of St Francis in the school garden on this special occasion.

“Along with intelligent quotient, it’s important that children grow in emotional quotient to be humane in attitude and it needs spiritual quotient is primary necessity in education system," said U T Khader, deputy leader of opposition, Karnataka Legislative Assembly the chief guest of the celebration.

“Let us stop training the minds and making our society intelligent, rather let us form human beings who love each other, serve each other and build happy and peaceful society," said Fr Victor D Mello with his prayerful wishes and blessings for successfully completing 10 years.

Sr Lilly Pinto, Secretary of Ursuline Franciscan Educational Society thanked all those who strived for the growth of the school in her address and said, “Assisi Central School is standing monument to the zeal, patience and perseverance. This school was, is and will be the inspiration to all those who see it from far, enter and pass through the portals of the school."

“Assisi Central School brings inward and outward growth in students without making noise. I believe creating the students with the attitude to accept the society with all its differences and admit it as it is and it will be the best contribution from the institution to the society” said Sudhakar K, DDPI of Dakshina Kannada.

The decennial magazine 'Enlightened to lighten' was released by Sr Susheela Sequeira, superior general of Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, Counting the ten blessings of decennial celebration, she appreciated and recognised the committed teaching faculty in her presidential address and congratulated principal Sr Juliana Pais for making it possible which was impossible and honoured the principal and felicitated.

Teachers and the staff who rendered their service in the infancy of the school, Vice presidents of past ten years of the Parents teacher Association, and four top scorers of the Class 10 were honoured on this auspicious occasion.

Students performed mind blowing tableau and dances. A theme song on the occasion was sung by students and teachers were impressive.

Sr Gracilda Cutinha welcomed the gathering and Sr Juliana Pais, the Principal proposed vote of thanks on this special event.

Sr Clara Menezes, provincial superior of Mangalore province, Sr Leena Rodrigues, correspondent, Sr Veera D'Souza, superior of Shanthi Nilaya Convent, Ronald D'Souza, PTA vice president and Venissa D'Souza, alumni president were present on the dais.

The management Ursuline Franciscan Society and sisters of Mangalore province, congratulated the principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and parents and prayed God’s blessings.
