Mangalore: Customs Officer Hangs Himself

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 31: Shivaprasad (45), working as customs superintendent in the city, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence, on the evening of Sunday January 30. Kadri police inspector, Niranjanraj Urs, attributed the purpose of the suicide to frustration in life.

On Sunday, Shivaprasad was at home. At around 4 pm, he went to his bedroom in the guise of taking rest. As he did not come out till 5.30 pm, the family members went to check. They found him hanging from the ceiling fan, it is reported.

Shivaprasad, a native of Puttur, was working as customs superintendent here, since the last some years. He is survived by wife and two sons, the policemen said.

Elias and all friends of Shivaprasad,

I had the opportunity of meeting Shivaprasad once in my life in Delhi and it was just a casual meeting, but it turned out to be a memorable one since this person was man of many gifts and challenges and selfless characters.

He came out of his way to assist me and spent good time with me and was overwhelming with his help/support in the limited time I spent with him. Its time for us to pray for his lost soul and may the Good Lord bless his family for all the good deeds and good friends he has left behind in this world. He will be remembered in our hearts and a Person of UNIQUE Qualities that we lost and miss

Dear friends, relatives, colleagues and well wishers of Late Shivaprasad,
January 30th, 2011 turned out as a mourning day for most of us when our Shivaprasad left us all of a sudden leaving us in utter shock and surprise. Though he has left us, he has left some indelible memories in our heart and mind. Whoever has associated with him as a friend, colleague, relative or in official connection, has some unique memories of him He has touched each one of us in his own typical style as Samaritan, friend, guide, savior, facilitator and the list is endless!!. Here is an opportunity to record your pleasant encounters with him so that we could pay him a fitting tribute. Though, he is not there with us to appreciate what each of us has to say, perhaps, each one of us and his family would be able to appreciate the greatness of his all round personality.

I have created this group from the common email list Late Shivaprasad used to mail. In case, you know anybody else who was associated with Late Shivaprasad, you are entitled to pass on this message to them so that I could include their tribute too in this group's memoirs. Also, our heartfelt condolences to bereaved members of Shivaprasad's family.

    Yours sincerely

I am shattered to hear the sad news of early demise of my collegemate as well as department colleague of yester years. He was a such fine gentleman and every person from Sepoy to the Commissioner in the department used to appreciate his friendly and kind nature. Even every outside person dealing with him appreciated his services. I am deeply saddened by the loss of a wonderful kind hearted friend like him. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the bereaved members of his family.
