Mangaluru, Apr 2: A farewell ceremony was held on April 30 for the most respected teacher Gracilla D’Cunha who has provided her fruitful service at St Agnes CBSE school for 18 long years.
A teacher known for her good knowledge of the subject, quiet and dedicated towards her responsibilities, friendly and good with her fellow colleagues.
The programme began with teacher Gracilla being escorted by the students dressed as angels accompanied by her two daughters Delma and Freeda D’Cunha. A meaningful prayer service for led by the students of grade X. Manisha welcomed the gathering followed by a scintillating dance performance by the students. A song was dedicated by the students of grade X. The teachers too presenting a melodious wishing song to teacher Gracilla. A short entertainment program was put up in the form of tableau which showed Gracilla’s entire experience in this school.
Neesha and Amita expressed their views and emotions as colleagues and working along with teacher Gracilla and their share of days with her.
Aastha Naikodi of grade X and Nidhi Nirvani of grade VI shared their opinion as student representatives and conveyed their sincere admiration and gratitude for teacher Gracilla.
The management took the opportunity to honour Gracilla for her dedication and selfless service. The PTA vice president along with the members of the group too appreciated her work and offered their gratitude to her.
The dignitaries too expressed their thoughts and thanked Gracilla for her service and dedication shown in school. The joint secretary Sr Dr Lydia Fernandes AC expressed her thoughts by sharing good memories as teacher Gracilla being her student. She wished teacher a fruitful retirement.
The administrator Sr Edna Furtado AC also appreciated teacher Gracilla for the handwork and commitment and wished her the very best for her new retirement life.
The principal too shared her thoughts by a meaningful presentation of teacher and student and thanked teacher Gracilla for her sincere work done and encouraging students in every way.
Gracilla in her speech thanked every one for making her day so special and expressed her memories in this institution.
The programme came to an end with Raina giving the vote of thanks by thanking all for their presence and loving gesture followed by a fellowship meal.
The programme was compered by Teacher Josephine and the ambiance and the creative feel and the entire programme was well coordinated by teachers of grade VI.
