Mangalore, Jan 24:
The district BJP leaders held a protest in front of the city railway station here on Monday January 24 to condemn the act of the union government which directed the central security forces to stop a train with 1,900 state BJP activists in Maharashtra and sent them back to Karnataka.

The special train carrying BJP workers from Bangalore was stopped around 1 am at Sarola, in Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra, with a team of police and railway security force detaching the train's engine under the cover of darkness and redirecting it to Karnataka.

District BJP unit led by BJP committee president Shreekar Prabhu, general secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha Sumana Sharan among others slammed the move of the security forces to prevent BJP workers going to Jammu. Addressing the protesters Shreekar Prabhu said that hoisting the national flag anywhere in the country is a preliminary right. This act shows that UPA government indirectly supports traitors in the country.

He also stood by the decision of BJP of hoisting the national flag in Jammu even after the central government declared that no political worker from any state will be allowed to attend the Tiranga Yatra on January 26. He also said that the central government which has the responsibility of safeguarding the country in various ways like controlling inflation, ensuring security among others has ignored such burning issues.

As many as 50 BJP workers gathered at the venue and shouted slogans against the UPA government.
