Mangaluru: St Aloysius College Primary School holds farewell for students

Mangaluru, Mar 23: The farewell of the students of Std VII – of St Aloysius College Primary School, Kodialbail was held on March 19, at the school auditorium.

The dignitaries of the day were - chief guest Dr Eric Christopher Lobo, headmistress Philomena Lewis, assistant headmaster Lia Dsouza, and The PTA vice president Arvind Rao were present.

A welcome march was organized for the outgoing students of Std VII along with the dignitaries with a round of applause .

The significance of the day was read by Anit Bindu followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries along with,student representative. The backdrop of the auditorium was decorated creatively, with a theme highlighted as 'Spread your wings and fly high till you reach success'.

The prayer service was conducted by the students along with the teachers, the students read the scriptures from three Holy books along with the thanksgiving intentions. The prayer service ended with a beautiful thanks giving hymn.

Swathi Praveen welcomed the dignitaries and the students .

The students of Std VII –Tilak Purusha, Dhruva and Ananya expressed their feelings towards their journey of their school life.

The out going students pledged under the guidance of headmistres Philomena Lewis.

The names of the outgoing students were read out by their class teachers and each student was felicitated with a memento. A farewell song was sung by the students of class VI. Shobha Pinto welcomed the chief guest of the day Dr Eric Lobo .

The chief guest in his address, first recalled his nostalgic memories of his childhood in this school. He briefed on the importance of value based education to become a good citizen for future. He quoted on four words of instruction to be followed in life – Self Respect, Effective Communication, Compassion and Empathy.

The headmistress addressed the outgoing students saying that school days are the best days in ones life, to cherish them each and everyday of life. Life is a precious gift from God, to lead a good way of life. To hold on to the values that we achieve from education. Four key sentences were addressed by the headmistress – To obey your parents, respect the elders, give importance to studies, live a value filled life such that you will be successful in life.

A dance was performed by the students of Std V. Vote of thanks was proposed by Harish. The programme was compered by Anit Bindu and Poornima.

The farewell programme ended with the school anthem.
