Beltangady, Jan 24: “The opposition parties have been carrying out a vicious campaign to unseat the BJP government, which has been working earnestly to meet the genuine needs of the poor people. I am sure the people will teach the opposition parties a lesson for their greed and ulterior motives,” said Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar.
He was speaking after distributing modern agricultural equipments at the agricultural awareness workshop organized by Rotary club here under ‘Raitamitra’ scheme. The programme was held on Sunday January 23 at Sharada Mantap Ujire near here.
“The state government has been pro-poor and has always been responsive to the problems faced by farmers. The opposition parties have been planning to dethrone the government, which has been functioning efficiently. The loss incurred during Karnataka bandh organized on Saturday should be made good by the opposition parties,” he opined.
He asked the organizations and associations to work honestly to ensure that the benefits of the government schemes reach the needy. He also advised them not to get involved with groupism, and to get fully involved with public welfare initiatives.
Ujire SDM Education Society secretary, Dr B Yashovarma, presided. Former MLA, K Prabhakar Bangera, Rotary Club president, Pratapsimha Nayak, and secretary, S Jayaram, were present.
