Mangaluru, Mar 8: International women's day was celebrated at Srinivas University College of Aviation studies in its Pandeshwar campus on Tuersday.
Police Commissioner of Mangaluru N Shashikumar, IPS was the chief guest of the program.
N Shashikumar said, "Women should not be dependent on men and then the whole world will be independent."
He also mentioned that women should be economically and financially stable.
Dr A Srinivas Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University in his presidential remark, spoke about women's equality.
Vice chancellor Dr P S Aithal, development registrar Dr Ajay Kumar, pro vice chancellor Dr Sathya Sai Kumar, Institute of Aviation Studies dean Prof Pavithra Kumari, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism dean Prof Swaminathan and Institute of Education dean Dr Jayashree was present.
Shamitha Alva welcomed the guests while Aishwarya proposed a vote of thanks.
