Mangaluru, Mar 8: Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University hosted a function on 'Inauguration ceremony of advanced therapeutic equipment in Physiotherapy' on March 7, 2022 at city campus Pandeswar, Mangaluru.
The function was presided by Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president, A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru.
Dr Rajendra K V, IAS, deputy commissioner, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru was the chief guest and inaugurated the function with a ribbon cutting and started the advanced equipment in Physiotherapy.
Guest of honour for the function was Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University and vice-president, A Shama Rao Foundation and special invitees were Dr P S Aithal, vice chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr Sathya Sai Kumar, pro- vice chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr Anil Kumar, registrar, Srinivas University and Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar development, Srinivas University. Deans of various colleges were also present for the function.
Those new equipment were Repetitive Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation (RPMS) which helps to alleviate all kind of acute and chronic orthopedic related pain including cancer pain and cure patients suffering from post-partum stress urinary incontinence and age related urge incontinence. Another equipment was Decompression Spinal Therapy Unit. It is an advance therapeutic unit which delivers traction to the individual spinal segment and relieves nerve compression and thereby reduces disk herniation.
DC was also shown other latest equipments available at the Srinivas Physiotherapy outpatient unit, Pandeswar such as LASER, Virtual rehab unit and force plate.
The formal inaugural session started with the prayer song followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr S Rajasekar, dean, Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University. The event was spiritually enlightened by the lamp lightening.
The DC, Dr Rajendra K V showered his words of wisdom and encouragement to the entire team of Physiotherapy. He was impressed with the quality patient service provided by the Srinivas Physiotherapy Institute and wished for their unique service to the society. Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University enlightened the students with his words. chancellor of Srinivas University Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao addressed the gathering and recognized the immense contribution of district administration during the Covid pandemic under the helm of the DC for the citizens of Mangaluru.
The formal ceremony ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Thrishala Noronha associate professor, Institute of Physiotherapy and with the National Anthem thereafter.
