Beltangady, Jan 10: Cultivation of scientific thinking is inevitable in modern generation, said State Task Force on Biofuels chairman Y B Ramakrishna.
He was speaking after inaugurating the three-day teachers’ workshop on ‘recycling of resource’ at SDM college, Ujire on Monday January 10. "Development projects have been causing dissimilarities in the society. Modern world is merely paying attention towards consumption of resource, but there is need for thinking of recycling of available resources," he added.
He said that modern day woes are intensifying with the development of science and technology. It is unfortunate to note that farmers in India which has 6000 years of history in agriculture are now having reached a position to commit suicide. The fertility of farming land has gone down with the usage of chemical fertilizers. It is time for everyone to think about our future, he said.
Vice principal Prof Nagabhushan presided.
Science department dean Prof Dinesh Chowta welcomed the gathering while lecturer Dr Keshava Hegde compered the programme.
The workshop is organized under the joint aegis of public education department, Pilikula Science Centre and SDM Technical Resource Centre for the benefit of teachers of all primary and high schools.
