Udupi, Dec 21: The annual ‘Jatra’ was held at the historically famous Janardhan Temple, Yermal, near here, on Monday December 20.

The ‘Rathotsava’ was held on Monday afternoon followed by free offerings to a large number of devotees on the occasion.

The Jatra in Yermal has special significance and is locally famous as Yermaljeppu Kandevu Adepu Jatra, as the Jatras in other temples in the coastal district are held after the Yermal Jatra.

The Jatra celebrations in the coastal district conclude with the last Jatra in the temple near Kandevu in Suratkal on the outskirts of Mangalore.

Kaup circle inspector Cheluvaraj and policemen provided adequate security for the Jatra at Yermal.
