Mangaluru, Jan 29: Republic day marks the adoption of the constitution of India and the transition of the country to a republic on January 26, 1950. Every year, the celebrations marking the day feature spectacular military and cultural pageantry. Republic Day, which is a national holiday all over the country, unites all Indians as they commemorate the day the Indian Constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950.

Prestige educational institution celebrated the Republic Day with fervor. Chairman of the Institution Hyder Ali, welcomed the chief guest Shareef with a bouquet.

Emcees welcomed the dignitaries including managing director of the Institution, Reshma Hyder, administration manager Reshma Shetty, business development manager Shameer Ahmed, PRO Nida Falak, Sreedevi, campus manager Vishwanath and the staff members and workers.

Then like all the years, the celebration was opened by the flag upliftment ceremony. This was followed by a drill march led by students of the school. This march is very famous among the city as it is a beautifully decorated procession and musical instruments like bagpipes, drums and flutes are played by the little students of the school.

Following that some short drama depicting the parliamentary system of India was staged by the students. The programme was full of cultural events like singing, recitation, dance etc.

Sindhu Sedhu, PU principal of the college emphasized in her speech, "We celebrated our first Republic Day on January 26, 1950, which is exactly two and half years after we became independent. For this whole period of two and half years all learned men and women like Dr B R Ambedkar, Dr Rajendraprasad and their whole team work tirelessly to make it possible to accomplish this tremendous task of framing world’s lengthiest constitution for Republic India."

CBSE School principal Feroza Fayaaz motivated the gathering by her words of wisdom. She elaborated that, "The Indian Constitution framed so beautiful is very well understood and the effort to convey it by my students is really over whelming. I thank each and every one present over here who have spent their precious time with us to motivate our students. May the pride of being an Indian and the love towards the fellow being instilled in each and every heart."

On the occasion, students made a parade in tune with the melodious band coherent with beating of drums. The march-past was led by high school student. The members of the fine arts club rendered patriotic songs with the background music. The entire programme was planned Montessori, Primary and High School Teachers.

The lecturers of both 11th and PU section, Montessori, primary school and high school teachers and students participated in large numbers.

The gathering felt a sense of love and brotherhood after hearing the heartfelt renditions of patriotic songs by the students.

The event magnificently concluded with cake cutting and sweet distribution.
