Udupi: Jaya Karnataka, Dist Unit Help's Poor Family's Dream Come True

Mangalore, Dec 20: A poor family in Saanthur which had a dream of having a full-fledged house since 8 decades has been fulfilled by Jaya Karnataka Udupi district unit, which lent a helping hand to construct a tiled roof house for them.

Poor children of late Narsu Shetty residing near Hosaoklu, Saanthur near Padubidri have been donated with Rs 3 lac worth house. Pramod Madhwaraj, entrepreneur, handed over the keys to Radhu Shedthi, head of that family in the presence of office-bearers of Jaya Karnataka on Saturday December 18.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhwaraj said that helping hand is better than praying lips.

Ramesh Shetty, office-bearer of Jaya Karnataka said that the union has planned to construct one house every year for poor people. He then handed over Rs 15,000 to that poor family as house warming ceremony expenditure.

Jaya Karnataka district president Sathish Poojary, office-bearers Nagesh, Prashanth Shetty, Karunakar Poojary, Sudhakar Rao, Shashikanth Shetty, Ramesh Shetty and taluk panchayat former member Ramesh Kanchan among others were present on the occasion.
