Mangalore: P A Nazareth Addresses AIMIT Students on Gandhiji, his Leadership

Mangalore, Dec 19: P A Nazareth, former high commissioner and ambassador to USA and many other countries, and an alumnus of St Aloysius College, Mangalore visited AIMIT, the new campus for MBA & IT programmes of St Aloysius College of St Aloysius College at Beeri, Kotekar on Saturday December 18.

On the occasion, Nazareth addressed the management and IT students and spoke on Gandhiji and his leadership. His lecture at AIMIT was mainly about the virtues of honesty and non-violence. He highlighted that Gandhiji being an exemplary non-violent political figure and his simple yet powerful ideas brought about the downfall of entire British empire in India. He also shared a short documentary based on the brutal racial discrimination faced by the blacks in the 1980s. 

Nazareth highlighted on Mukhazheti Jack, another inspiring leader who came up during this revolution. He was a young leader driven by the urge to lead his people against the discrimination. Nazareth viewed that in the present business condition, managers should follow virtues of honesty and non-violence. Future managers require lot of tolerance, perseverance and fearlessness to implement the ethical practices in business operations.

He highlighted the importance of CRM, CSR, and business ethics in modern business. Companies which are window-dressing theirs operation may get success in the short run, but in the long run CRM. CSR and business ethics are important elements to be followed for survival.

After retirement from Indian Foreign Service, P A Nazareth has been passionate about spreading the message of peace, truth and non-violence expounded by the father of our nation. He has been giving lectures at various Institutions in and around India and has been highly claimed. 

Nazareth is a founder and managing trustee of Sarvodhaya International Trust which is dedicated to promoting the Gandhian values of truth, peace and non-violence, communal harmony and humanitarian service. Nazareth is the recipient of prestigious U THANT PEACE AWARD for his “life-time of dedication and world service in promoting Gandhian ideals.” This award has been conferred on only a few very distinguished persons.

He is the author of the book “Gandhi’s Outstanding Leadership” which has been acclaimed as one of the monumental works on the father of our nation.
