Udupi, Jan 26: The 73rd Republic day celebrations were held at Christ School, Manipal on Wednesday January 26 with great spirit and enthusiasm. By following all the Covid 19 protocols the celebrations were held in the school campus.
Rocky Pinto, Rank ex sub-lieutenant served in Indian Army for 28 years in Army Ordinance Core, unfurled the National Flag, while Fr Frederick D’Souza, correspondent, Eliza Vaz, principal, Cyrilla Mukthi Prabha Lobo, academic co–ordinator were present on the occasion.
Fr Frederick D’Souza addressed the winter gathering of Republic Day by a speech on patriotism and endless sacrifices made by the martyrs in getting the freedom of our nation.
The Scout and Guide team members were handed the Rajya Puraskar Prashasti Patra by chief guest of the day. Kriti of class 10 gave a speech on the importance of this day as well as explaining the soul sacrifice of the revolutionaries in making our country independent.
The school assembly was captained by school captain Laura Cutinha and she was accompanied by the principal and correspondent.
The ceremony was mastered by Sumanth of class 10. Vote of thanks was presented by Deepti of class 10.
