Panaji, Jan 15: The sale of liquor is banned in the entire state after 11 pm by the district magistrates of north and south Goa in view of the model code of conduct already enforced for the forthcoming state assembly election in February.

Sale of liquor at shops, clubs, shacks, pubs, bars and provision stores are prohibited after 11 pm according to the order that is issued under section 144.

The outlets can do any other service after 11 pm excepting the sale of liquor, the order said. If public comes across any violation, the same should be reported to the district magistrate for appropriate action.

Flying squads are formed to check the violators. The order does not apply to bars and shops that do not have the licence to keep them open till 11 pm. Police and excise officials will ensure the implementation of the order of the district magistrate.
