Media Release

Udupi, Oct 17: A meeting of panchayat members was held in the Kaup constituency in light of the Dakshina Kannada local bodies by-election. Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the BJP recognizes the sacrifices and dedication of its workers. He highlighted how the party honored figures like current President Droupadi Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind for their loyalty to the party. He called on everyone to work hard in every way through action, speech, and thought to ensure the victory of candidate Kishore Kumar Puttur in the upcoming by-election.

Former MLA Lalaji Mendon remarked that this time, the party has given a legislative council ticket to a common party worker, and it is now the responsibility of all the party members to ensure his victory. Speaking at the event, former chairman of the coastal development authority Mattar Rathnakar Hegde noted that Kishore Kumar’s victory in the local bodies election would strengthen the Panchayat Raj system, and he would be a voice for the people's issues in the legislative council.

Candidate Kishore Kumar Puttur expressed that BJP is the only party that has made sacrifices for the country. He stated that the election is not based on caste but is about addressing development and the problems of the people. He pledged to serve the people by following the path laid out by the party elders.

The event was attended by BJP zonal president Jitendra Shetty, former district president Kuilady Suresh Nayak, BJP state Mahila Morcha general secretary Shilpa J Suvarna, district vice presidents Prakash Shetty Padebettu and Shreesha Nayak Pernankila, Mahashakti Kendra President Shivaprasad Shetty, campaign leaders Arun Shetty and Rajesh Cauvery, and zonal general secretaries Gopalakrishna Rao and Sharan Kumar Mattu, along with several panchayat presidents, vice presidents, members, senior party leaders, and workers.
