Mangaluru, Dec 28: The Entrepreneurship Development Forum (EDF) of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised a contest on 'Beautiful Bridal Makeup” contest on 18 December 2021 at the college campus to provide a platform to the students to showcase their talents on face makeup, hair style and dressing a bride. It was amazing to see the overwhelming response of 32 teams of students from both UG and PG taking part enthusiastically in the competition. Each team consisted of four students making it to a total of 128 student participants exhibiting their creative skills on dressing up a beautiful bride.
The brides were made to present themselves in front of the judges with an impressive bridal walk to the rhythm of the music played by the cabinet members Rhea Sequeira and Rajshee Singh. There were three rounds of judgement. In the first round, 12 beautiful brides were chosen for further assessment. In the second round, six brides were chosen as the semi finalists. In the final round, three brides were selected as the winner, first runner-up and the second runner-up. The winner brides along with their team members are:
Winner: Spoorthi (bride),Rachitha, Dhanusha and Vidisha.
First Runner-up: Adithi (bride), Sharanya, Athmika and Shwetha
Second Runner-up: Riya (bride), Alfeen, Nuha and Fizza
The judges of this creative contest were the renowned beauticians of Mangalore region Viz., Ms. Chethana, Proprietor, Chetana’s Beauty Lounge, and Ms. Suhana, Proprietor, Suhana Makeup Studio and Saloon.
Dr Devi Prabha Alva, convenor of EDF and Halimath Arshiya, the student secretary of EDF hosted the “Beautiful Bridal Makeup” contest. Neha, the member of EDF proposed the vote of thanks.
There is a plethora of opportunities available to become entrepreneurs in the glamour industry. Students who are creative in hairdressing and makeup could tap these opportunities and become financially independent, said Dr Devi Prabha Alva.
