Mangaluru, Dec 26: NSS units of St Agnes college organized a visit to Snehalaya, Pavoor, Manjeshwar on December 21. A team of 20 NSS student volunteers along with four faculty members – Vineetha, NSS programme officer, Vidya Patali, NSS program officer, Sr Evet, management representative and Vivan, assistant NSS programme officer made this visit.
Veena, staff of Snehalaya, took the team around to meet the inmates and interact with them. After the interaction a video related to Snehalaya, and its activities was shown to all. Br Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, also briefed the NSS students about Snehalaya - a home for the destitute and enlightened the students about the importance of social service in serving humanity selflessly.
This was followed by the Christmas programme prepared and presented by the NSS volunteers with much love and Joy. All inmates actively and happily participated in the games conducted by the NSS volunteers. The programme was well appreciated by Br Joseph Crasta and the staff of Snehalaya. Savitha, public relation officer, Snehalaya thanked St Agnes College for the generous donation and the NSS volunteers for the beautiful, meaningful, joyous Christmas programme and games. Vivan, assistant NSS officer proposed the vote of thanks.
