Mangalore, Nov 11: The Mulky policemen have arrested three persons, who were trying to sell off a substance, duly making people believe that it was snake venom. The arrests were made from near Kordabbu Daivsthana in Padupanambur near Mulky.
The arrested men have been identified as Prashant, residing near Kankanady Garody, Anitraj, living in Bajal Kuttadka, and Subrhamanya gram panchayat member, Ashok Acharya. The policemen said that a sticky substance that looked and smelt like stale oil, which was recovered from the arrested people, will be sent for laboratory tests to confirm whether it was snake venom.
A couple of policemen posing as customers interested in venom, made the arrests. Achary was arrested from Subrahmanya, on the basis of information provided by the other two people, who were nabbed earlier. Police sources believe that a few more people from Bangalore and Mumbai are involved with this racket.
