Kasargod, Nov 9: ‘Namo Srishti Rochnara’, the 20th Konkani devotional audio CD by
Fr Valerian Mendonca and Fr Clement Mascarenhas, was released by Fr Vincent D’Souza, parish priest and vicar forane of Bela parish in Kasargod district at the Sunday November 7 Holy Mass.
The new CD comprises a prayer dance song, hymns on Mother Mary and Mother Teresa, and some relating to various parts of the Holy Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Fr Vincent, addressing the large congregation on this occasion, thanked and congratulated the composers and directors for their devotional offerings of 20 CDs in Konkani, six CDs in Hindi, and three CDs in Kannada, and hoped that they would help the listeners elevate their hearts and minds to the service of the Lord.
Razak K B, who orchestrated the project, was present on the occasion. Markus Vallazza, an Austrian musician, and Joel Pereira, have harmonized the project. Sangeetha Balachandra, Babita Pinto, Ivy D’Souza, Josma D’Souza, Rony Crasta, Vincent Alva, Anil D’Sa, along with several other singers, have rendered the pieces beautifully and devotionally in a four-voice harmony. Ashith Pinto, sound engineer, has recorded the project in the Sandesha Digital Studio. Bishop of Mangalore, Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, has approved the hymns for liturgical use.
The producers hope that the meaningful and melodious hymns will contribute immensely to the lively celebration of the liturgy and other celebrations.
