Mangaluru, Nov 3: Lourdes Central School is a school wherein all Indian festivals are celebrated to show inclusive thought of all Lourdites and encourage brotherhood.

Lourdes Central School celebrated the festival of lights – 'Deepavali' on November 2, during the assembly. The programme started with the prayer urging the people to light the guiding light within us. On the auspicious day Anushka read out the prayer-intentions seeking God’s blessings on all the people. Fr principal Fr Robert D Souza, lighted the Diya, signifying the enlightenment of soul.

Shiven read the thought for the day which highlighted us to expel the darkness within us. Shreya gave the importance of celebration of Deepavali and green crackers. Principal Fr Robert Dosuza wished everyone a Happy Deepavali and he blessed the students, staff, parents, management and the well-wishers and prayed that the light of the Deepavali bring in peace and prosperity to every human being and the elements of the nature. He also requested the students to reach out to the less privileged as LCS always strives to work for less fortunate people.

Beautiful lanterns, colourful Rangoli and meaningful bulletin board display added charm to the celebration. Students decorated their classrooms and enjoyed the day.
