Mangaluru: 19-year-old nursing college student ends life

Mangaluru, Oct 6: In a tragic incident, a student of a private nursing college in Kankanady who attempted to end her life, died at a private hospital here without responding to the treatment on Wednesday October 6.

The deceased has been identified as Nina (19), a resident of Kasargod, Kerala. She was pursing her first year BSc nursing and was the student of the 2020-21 batch.

Nina had attempted to hang herself in the college hostel’s bathroom at Kadri on Tuesday October 5. She passed away at a private hospital here on Wednesday without responding to the treatment.

The deceased has left behind a death note. It is said she was unable to pay the college fees and was depressed over the same. It is suspected that the college was harassing her due to the same issue.

A case is registered at Kadri police station.

    You cannot compare your first love with me this Cynthia. She is your first love and remain in yiur heart forever and ends with her only. Because i read here in this daiji innumerable time praising her and remembering her.....you cannot compare your love with a person whom you didnt love.....She might read your comment and filling with joy....that time she was 15 and now must be 60. Dont try to fill the gap of her absence by talking to me.....gap is gap only...Tomorrow if you get a good friend of your choice, and if you keep on telling her about your first love, she wil disappear from your friendship like snail.     Three Musketeers is a Western cowboy movie. I had seen during my college days in 1970's. The depression and mental agony came in my married life and I was doubting any thing and creating my own visions due to some people poisoned my mind. Any ways I am away from all such miseries and want to have peaceful days a ahead. That's why I sometimes lose my cool and cross likely limits because my blood boils and I say something which annoys others. I was never like that. Doubts & suspicion are a worst aspects which would destroy personal growth and healthy atmosphere.

    I agree with your last sentence in your comment saying doubts and suspicion are two worst aspects to ruin the peace of mind and good atmosphere in the family. It hindrances the overall development of our ourself as well as the others. But, sometimes being we are human beings cannot stay without doubting, when we see certain realities and hear some from our surroundings. Some may simply poison out of jealousy and some in order to help us may reveal certain things. "Anger" is normal in every creature. Even an ant gets angry and it bites so as the new born baby too! You should get angry according to some great writers. You cannot dump all the hurts/pains/sufferings inside your heart and act as though no emotions only within you. This is bad. But, one should not go out of way to exhibit the anger. That harms us only. When some incidents make you irritate and give a way to boil your blood and destroys the calmness....please dont listen to that. Avoid the people who tells you such things or stop reading such articles. In everything good and evil is there. Concentrate on your health and be happy ...retain peace all the time......god bless

    Flavs....i guessed it long back. Anyways, leave and do not recall. Mental agony is such a bad state of our mind. I too went through and got bed ridden. Only one thing i do now, i hear the problems of some who shares with me and fill positivity in them. And i dont forget to pray to all those who are depressed my dear. Anyways, please forgive me too for using the harsh words. I am sorry 😞. Coming to the point, this I wish (he, she) i dont know, expressed her/his views on depression during the time of Fr.     Flavs....i have informed some concerned authorities not to reveal my identity. I informed my kirem priest also. Yes evenif you dig my graveyard in cemetery, you wont find me there also. Coming to the point, some qualities what you mentioned here are not at all suiting me.....for ex.. like tempera ....mental, hate natured, highly educated, proficient etc. What exactly i am you didnt mention.     May her soul rest in peace. it is sad. Heavenly Father give strength to her parents to bear the loss of thier beautiful child. I always think parents should educate their children how to face life. For a normal life there are so many other ways for a daily bread. It is not that she should be a nurse/ doctor/engineer/CA and so on. When you want to go on a green path there may be obstacles, if you find it difficult to cross take a left or right turn. For sure it may not be that green as thought OR liked but definately that is far better to keep you happy. Please for your parents and family sake don't do this type of things. How many crores people suffering around the world with much more complicated problem than this, yet they face it boldly and live.

    RIP - Very sad story. Feel sorry for her parents. Government must announce interest free student loan to such students to pursue their professional studies. Ask them to repay the loan after they get a decent job. May be 3-4 years after getting the job. Government must bear the interest cost of such loans. This may not be a big amount. The public sector banks write-off huge loans of Industrial houses / Business organizations. Compared to this, these loans are very small and am sure they will definately repay such loans , there won't be any defaults. This will help many poor students/families to pursue their studies and overcome economic problems.

    FYI, depression is a sickness that makes one want to end their existence reagardless of how successful, wealthy or smart a person is. There is no such thing as having a "will" or a "drive" when your mind tells you you're not worth it and you're not deserving of the life you have. When one develops depression they distance themselves from their friends and loved ones, lose interest in all that they loved to do, can't eat and feel MISERABLE the whole day. If you haven't gone through such a thing I'm so happy for you but please don't post such insensitive things regarding depression and people who couldn't move further in life. Say a prayer, do some research and don't try to compare your hardships with hers. I understand you too suffered a lot but just because you managed doesn't mean everyone can. Be sensitive and understanding. There may be loopholes like you said but looking down on one who isn't with us anymore is deplorable.

So, you can imagine what I decided. But something changed. No more depression. And no negative thoughts.     Flevian Kuwait,please understand ,girl must have joined with some money ,later was unable to give further ,so she wanted to avoid any misunderstanding ?or family to bring in bad news ,.so simply suicided.?what pressure they used we dont know.They too will not tell the truth.may be she couldnt leave without paying money?I find at present why should nursing students pay money and study?Afterall they work during the studies ,in hospital ,so it is wrong to make them work and contra ask money from them.where is justice.?In my time we used to work and were getting also pocket money ten ruppes.not much .with hostel and food.Now it is they are taking lacs first as donation?and have to pay everymonth fees.Unjustice.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.may her soul rest in peace.Hospitals are making money.
