Udupi, Oct 1: SMVITM Bantakal is selected as 'Mentor Institute' by MOE’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Govt of India while Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management Bantakal is selected as 'Mentor Institute' under the Mentor-Mentee programme 2021-22 of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) under Ministry of Education, Govt of India.
The major focus of IIC is to create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem. Start-up supporting Mechanism in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on innovation achievements framework, establish function ecosystem for ideating ideas and pre-incubation of Ideas, develop better cognitive ability for technology students.
Under this Mentor-Mentee programme, the IIC of SMVITM will facilitate knowledge exchange and resource mobilization between IIC institutions by offering inter-institutional collaborations and peer mentoring support during the calendar year 2021-22. The mentor institutions will provide mentoring and handholding support to mentee institutions by organizing a set of workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
The mentor institutions will also guide mentee institutions to take part in ARIIA, and adopt NISP and encourage institutions to actively participate in I& E initiatives of state and central government.
SMVITM achieved this status for achieving 4.5 golden star rating in the field of innovation, entrepreneurship related activities held during the academic year 2019-20. It is a proud moment and great honor for SMVITM, Bantakal to get listed for mentorship programme by Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India.
